Eat the Rainbow: A Wholehearted Wellness Adventure

In this month-long adventure together, we will explore the full spectrum of flavors (and nutrition) found in colorful fruits and vegetables, one color at a time.
Adventure Overview
On Fridays, you’ll gain access to a new Eat the Rainbow “Guidebook” which introduces the fruits/veggies for the next week. This gives you time to gather your provisions over the weekend. Starting each Monday, we’ll explore (and eat!) fruits/veggies in a particular color group for a few days. Look out for Eat the Rainbow “Guideposts” with how-to’s, fun facts, tips, incentives, and more. Be prepared for detours and bumps in the road, but know you can depend on your Adventure Guide (and Group) to help you stay the course. As Adventurers, you’re required strongly encouraged to share photos, captions, and recipes to inspire your fellow travelers.

What does “eat the rainbow” mean?
In this Wholehearted Wellness Adventure, eat the rainbow means we will add fruits and vegetables from the entire spectrum of colors to our meals during this month.
Do I have to eat the whole rainbow every day?
No. (But more power to you if you do!) We will explore fruits and veggies in each of eight color groups (ROY G BIV + White) for a few days at a time. Here’s a calendar for the month to help those who like to plan ahead.
How many servings should I eat ?
It’s up to you! Consider these recommendations:
- Fruit/Veggie Haters: a few bites – 1 serving (preferably 1-3 times/day)
- Fruit/Veggie Likers: 1 serving (2-4 times/day)
- Fruit/Veggie Lovers: 1-2 servings (3-5 times/day)
